The City of Eugene, Oregon is updating all of their park identity signs. Historically, this style of sign has been fabricated out of wood, but with newer materials available, it is now possible to look at a wider range of possibilities. Sea Reach was contracted for two phases to design and fabricate forty, single- and double-sided, arch top, park name signs and ten regulatory signs. The simple design lent itself to both urban and forested settings. The fabrication is an all aluminum structure (light, easy to install, and does not rust) and the sign faces are 1/8" high pressure laminate (inexpensive to update and easy to install). The sign is designed on a pivot, and has a removeable rail at the base to slide the sign panel in and out.
