OREGON HISTORICAL MARKERS

project date: 2012 | by peter reedijk | 1 related blog(s)

Oregon's Historical Markers, known by many locals as "The Beaver Boards" are located at significant cultural and natural history sites throughout the state dealing with topics ranging from important historical figures and traditional Indian fisheries to town site development and prehistoric tsunamis on the Oregon coast.

Oregon's Travel Information Council contracted Sea Reach to redesign this sixty-year-old marking system, to research, write, illustrate, produce, and manufacture replacement monuments as well as new markers. The new design was fabricated in fiberglass embedment and mounted within an aluminum frame on a traditional massive wooden structure.
